Everybody Dies - The Island Sessions 1
The post-punk duo Everybody Dies releases their debut EP, which is the first part of a trilogy that consists of recordings made on islands around Denmark. The release consists of four songs, which were written and recorded over a weekend in October 2022.

The Island Sessions 1, was created by the two good friends of almost 25 years - Andreas Normann and Jesper Vesterager - after having been musically separated for over 12 years. They have a long history together dating back to their early youth, but have not created music together since their musical breakup in 2011. Therefore, there was no concept, no band name and no music when they met on a dark autumn weekend in an old musicians house, located near an old castle on Langeland - an island in the southern part of Denmark. There was only a desire to enjoy each other's company and an ambition to make an EP during the weekend. They succeeded - and the entire basis for Everybody Dies was created.

"The EP consists of four songs which contain an angry, critical and ironic view of the world, e.g. exemplified in the lyrics:
When all else fails // And windows shut // Doors are closing // And the strains // On my heart // Won’t come off // I Commute”

After three days of isolation equipped with a pile of instruments and a home studio, they ended up with four angry, anxious and longing post-punk tracks written and recorded. Afterwards, different mixes were sent back and forth between the two friends in Odder and Odense (where their studio is located) until the songs were finished.

"We have chosen to prioritize our immediacy and curiosity after a 12-year musical hiatus, and we let it shine through in our productions. Notice the intro on Bruises. It was the very first vocal recording we made together, and therefore it begins with Andreas clearing his throat and (in Danish) saying: "Ok, så starter vi igen" - meaning, OK - and so it begins - after a 12-year break."

Since the recordings at Langeland, much more music has been written and recorded. What the recordings have in common is that they were made in isolation on various islands around the country. Therefore, this EP will be the first part of a trilogy entitled The Island Sessions.
